It was Father's Day here in Japan. I sent him a present and a card as usual.
How was the Father's Day in UK ?

I found this in " BBC learning English .com".
They say that it means it's a licence for the Bank of England to print money.
So is this a noun ?

Fathers Day is still taking off in the UK, it lags behind Mothers Day in popularity but the commercial sector is trying hard to make it more popular.
The expression quantitative easing describes a form of monetary policy used to stimulate a country's economy when interest rates are close to, or at zero. A central bank would normally stimulate the economy by lowering interest rates, but when it can't lower them any further it can use quantitative easing in an attempt to seed the financial system.
The Bank of Japan used quantitative easing in the early part of this century to fight domestic deflation.
